Dreamed up by two friends in 1993.
www.com ltd incorporated in July 1996.
Developed numerous first including; accurate search engine (Official Site Register) 2 years before Google. Developed job seekers website, (Postions.co.uk) way before Monster Jobs. Developed OzMates and MyMates way before Facebook. Developed online favourite sharing and storing way before Digg et al. Developed prototype music download service for small nominal fee - donkeys years before iTunes. Developed multi TV channel record, pause, rewind and playback including over the web streaming light years before Sky, Pace et al.
Picked by numerous blue chip organisations to develop interactive websites, Intranets and bespoke software.
Developed the first web site for British Airways. Developed the first web site for Financial Times. Developed the first UK web site to use realtime postcode lookup. Instrumental in developing the first online book store three years before Amazon.
Project 'Mildred Bint' concieved 2010
Project Mildred Bint renamed maxxpal, branded, trademarked and launched 2011.
We've been around a while and can remember things such as the Lycos dog, Netscape Navigator, that Ask Jeeves has never worked, when PC World told us that the internet only worked at 14.4k so a US Robotics Sportster 28.8 was a waste of money - oh and btw we don't have any in right now either.
We remember Google starting and thinking, damn there goes OSR (see above). We remember iTunes launching and thinking bugger if only we had thier funding. We remember excited aquantances telling us about Facebook and thinking - but's that's just OzMates.
We marvel now at the newbies seeing Social Networking as a way to earn a fast pound note and think to ourselves, hopefully not too many people will get burnt by these opportunists who don't really know their arse from their elbow.
